Khan expects tough defense against unbeaten Salita (AP)

Britain's Amir Khan and Ukranian born boxer Dmitriy Salita, right, come face to face during a photo call in London, England, Thursday Oct. 22, 2009. Amir Khan will face Dmitriy Salita in their WBA Light-Welterwight title boxing fight in December in Newcastle.

Amir Khan believes that defending his WBA light-welterweight title against unbeaten Dmitry Salita will be harder than winning it. Khan (21-1) came face-to-face with the Ukraine-born, New York-based challenger for the first time Thursday ahead of their Dec. 5 fight in Newcastle. Despite being a strong favorite to win the fight, Khan said he expects his first defense to be one of his toughest.
